At our school, internationalisation is more than travel — it is a way of learning. Through Erasmus+, our students broaden their horizons, discover new cultures, and collaborate with peers across Europe. Below you will find an overview of our past and current projects.
This school year, three Erasmus+ projects are running across different grades. We have expanded our international programme after seeing how strongly our students benefit from these experiences. For the first time, we combine sending and hosting students within the same partnerships — offering a full and truly immersive exchange experience.
Partner school: Colegio Señora del Huerto – Pamplona
Our 6SO students have established a new collaboration with a partner school in Pamplona. In October, they travelled to Spain for the first stage of this exchange, where they were immersed in local school life, culture, and traditions. The project places a strong focus on cultural exchange, European identity, and gaining insight into how education is organised across borders. This collaboration not only broadens their academic and cultural perspective but also strengthens their understanding of what it means to be a European citizen.
Upcoming: In March, we will welcome the Spanish students to our school for the return visit, during which they will take part in lessons, workshops, and cultural activities in Belgium.
Partner school: Maria Ward Schule – Aschaffenburg
In November, our 5SO students travelled to Aschaffenburg for a full immersion week that combined culture, creativity, and meaningful collaboration. They discovered German daily life through classroom participation, explored the city’s history, and worked closely with their German peers on workshops about sustainable mobility and cycling infrastructure. The programme also included a lively introduction to German dance, allowing students to step outside their comfort zone and experience local traditions in an active way.
This first stage of the exchange offered our students a unique opportunity to strengthen their language skills, gain confidence, and build international friendships.
Upcoming: In January, we will host the German students in Belgium for the return visit, during which they will join our lessons and explore our cultural heritage.
Partner school: City School Alain Borne Montélimar
A second partnership in 5SO focuses on deepening students’ French language skills while fostering cultural appreciation and international cooperation. Through this collaboration, students learn to communicate in authentic contexts, compare cultural perspectives, and work together on shared themes linked to their curriculum. The project also encourages them to develop independence, openness, and intercultural awareness.

4SO – Exchange with Kungsbacka (Sweden)
Partner school: Kungsbacka International School
Our youngest Erasmus+ participants have begun an exciting new partnership with Kungsbacka International School in Sweden. This collaboration introduces students to international learning at an early stage and encourages them to explore different perspectives, cultures, and ways of working. Earlier this year, we welcomed the Swedish organisers for an introductory visit to our school. Their visit marked the official start of a project that aims to build curiosity, openness, and global awareness among our 4SO students.

Last school year marked our first steps into the world of Erasmus+ exchanges. It was a year of exploration in which we discovered the many opportunities that international collaboration can offer our students. Through our initial projects with Spain and Italy, we experienced firsthand how these exchanges broaden horizons, strengthen language skills, and create meaningful intercultural connections. These successful first initiatives laid the foundation for the expanded and more ambitious Erasmus+ programme we are implementing today.
Exploring Spain – Pamplona (Colegio Claret Larraona)
In early October, a group of enthusiastic graduating students travelled to Pamplona for an unforgettable Erasmus+ experience. The first connections had already been made the previous school year during an eTwinning project, where students got to know each other through vlogs, speed dates, and creative collaborative tasks.
During their one-week stay at Colegio Claret Larraona, students immersed themselves fully in Spanish culture and daily life. They explored Pamplona’s traditions, gained insight into the Spanish school system, and even travelled to the beautiful coastal city of San Sebastián.
Beyond cultural discovery, students took part in workshops on European citizenship, diversity and racism — key themes that help them reflect on their role in today’s Europe.
This visit is part of a two-way trajectory: when the Spanish students visit Belgium, they will explore Brussels and the Westmalle Abbey, and continue working on shared societal themes.
Visit from Naples (Italy)
In May 2025, our school hosted fifteen Italian students from Liceo P.E. Imbriani in Avellino, near Naples, for a one-week project at our school. The students stayed with local host families and joined our graduating students for a varied cultural and educational programme.
Their visit included a guided city tour of Antwerp, a visit to the KMSKA museum, and a full day in Brussels with a stop at the European Parliament. At school, they took part in lessons on Belgian history and society, as well as workshops on diversity and inclusion.
The exchange specifically targeted students specialising in languages and followed an earlier project with Pamplona, Spain. The Italian students returned home enriched with new experiences, improved language skills, and strong friendships formed in a short time. Our own students equally benefited from the exchange: they practised their language skills, gained confidence in intercultural communication, and built lasting connections with their Italian partners.
